VW PARKS DEPARTMENT- MEN'S BASKETBALL RESULTS

VAN WERT -- The Van Wert Parks & Recreation Department's Men's Basketball League is under way for another season.  In the first game of the night Hatfield's took on Vorst Paving.  Scoring started out slow for both teams. At half Hatfield's lead was by 7, 28-21. Vorst Paving began to close the gap in the second half though but were unable to get over the hump as they were defeated 49-47. Jake Zinn led the way for Hatfield's with 24. Brett Ryan powered in 4 trey's in the night finishing with 14; Shane Hatfield with6, Tribolet 2 and Maples with 3 to round out the scoring. Vorst Paving was led by Josh Miller and Leach with 11 a piece followed by Mericle with 9 Jones 6, and Jordan Miller and Weichart with 5 each.

 

The eight o'clock game brought a new comer the Hawks to the hardwood to take on Team Dunlap. Scoring was back and forth in the first half with Team Dunlap on top 30-27. The second half seemed to give Hawks extra wind as it was taken from Team Dunlap. Hawks finished their inaugural game defeating Team Dunlap 68-61. Top Scorers for Hawks were Quincy Simpson 17, Antonio Tyree with 12 and Austin with 10.  Team Dunlap was led by Steve Bollenbacher 18, Brett Hammons 12 and Kevin Longstreth & Ross Evans with 10 a piece.

 

In the night cap Central's Year Before Last Years Champs easily handled Van Wert Vision.  Van Wert Vision struggled to find the rim all night but continued to clip away on Central's lead in the first half.  In the second half Van Wert Visions lost their wind losing to Central 60-105.  Central entered double figures for 6 of their 7 players led by R.J. Coleman with 24. Jon Van Cleave threw in 5 trey's and ending up with 19. Travis Owens tallied 16 and Rob Adams and Vining dropped 14 points a piece.  Van Wert Vision was led by Kirk Lichtensteiger  with 18 (4-3's) followed by Mark Hiegel with 17 (3-3's).

7PM    Yr Before Last Yr's Champs vs Kinstle-1st Federal-Millies

8PM    Hatfield's vs Team Dunlap

9PM    Vorst Paving vs Hawks
